I’m not getting remotely attached yet [partly because I have zero faith in myself as a worthwhile and engaging person], but he texts me first. why is it such a miracle that he texts me first.
i know being mentally ill (or otherwise disabled, but i’m speaking only from personal experience here) can make you feel like a really high-maintenance partner, and i know it can feel like you’re repetitive or self-absorbed or demanding or whatever, but i just wanna say: you…
queer and trans*** movements alike are scared of detransitioned women because we’ve been deep down that rabbithole, clawed our way out, been erased from entire groups of people we once called friends, and still found the ova to discuss in plain terms how we’ve been force-fed an ideology that tells us we’re the ones oppressing males
your fear is showing and it’s because we can and do blow the doors off your entire modus operandi
about me: I’m 2 degrees of separation from Anthony Bourdain, Emeril Lagasse, Padma Lakshmi, Gail Simmons, and I guess most of the people on the Chicago season of Top Chef
Yesss! I want to read it so bad, too!
Readers, I guess this is as good a time as any to mention that some of us are working on an anthology by women who have detransitioned, about our experiences.
It will include our creative writing, personal stories and the political analyses we have derived from them, as well as resources towards alternative ways to manage sex/gender dysphoria, outside of the medicalized transition model.
Once we have the bones in place, I will put out a formal call for submissions. It may be awhile; this is a huge undertaking.
If all goes well, this anthology will be the inaugural title of a new women’s press which I hope will eventually publish other nonfiction titles, as well as poetry and fiction.
I always cry these huge crocodile tears and it’s so embarrassing
can we just not add -blr or -spo to any random word (especially -spo bc didn’t that originate from thinspo?)
What does -blr even mean??
tumblr. like instead of mommy blogging you get mumblr, instead of fitness blogging you get fitblrs, and I just discovered that ‘studyblr’ is a thing??? instead of studying let’s just blog about studying, that seems productive.
oh yeah, I forgot ANSWERS THE DAMN PHONE DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS
Is it really so incredibly fucking rare to be able to find a female psychiatrist younger than ~50 who can do medication management for my relatively common list of diagnoses, takes my relatively common insurance, and operates within 20 miles of my home in fucking metropolitan Chicago? I feel like these are not outlandish requirements?
